EXTERIOR STAIRWAY – ATHENS MEDICAL CENTER

Exterior stairway for the Athens Medical Center building in Maroussi.

The project included the design, industrial processing, hot-dip galvanizing, and installation of the metal frame of an outdoor stairway of a total height of 20m to provide access to the six floors of the existing building. The coverage of the stairway landings and steps were constructed of 5mm ‘barley’ type sheet metal.

UPGRADE OF THESSALONIKI ENGINEERING STATION-ΑLSTOM TRANSPORT S.A.

TRAINOSE S.A. is upgrading of the existing infrastructure together with the construction of new and the improvements in rolling stock in order to develop the freight transport and increase rail traffic activity.  The project involved the design, manufactoring, supply, transport and installation of two compatible Fixed Platforms (FP) in the stilts tracks 01 and 02, with a total length of 420m. The FP installed on track 2 will support the extendable function while on track 1 the platform will have a fixed distance from the rolling stock.

 

In order to ensure proper operation, the FP shall compose of the following features and accessories:

 

  • Steel frame capable to support the automated sliding platform module (track 2)
  • Steel structure and fixed platform walkway (track 1)
  • Fixed guardrails & Removable side railings (track 1)
  • Access staircases on each FP edge with gates which will be enclosed by fixed safety railings. Before the entrance to the staircase a cage with a door will be installed to block any possible access to the platforms without permission. The doors will include the mechanical and electrical lock.
  • Two emergency ladders (x2) in-between for each platform will be installed on each platform. The ladders on track 2 will have a door with an electrical lock so as not to allow access to the platform from the base floor. The ladders on the track 1 should have a manhole with a hatch on the top. The hatch will be able to open only from the platform level so as not to allow access from the base floor.
  • Metal supports for Sockets 230/400VAC according to Alstom requirements
  • Metal supports for Sockets 230/400VAC according to Alstom requirements
  • Cable tray along the total length of both platforms
  • Automated gate on train head at the two extremities of each platform
  • Safety key box (trapped key interlock) with mechanical interlocking for safe accessing of the personnel into the working FP.
